Rich media children's story in multiple language

Here is the English version of Sammy's Autograph Book. (updated audio narration coming soon.) This Flash slideshow was created with the free Windows program named Powerbullet Presenter. The layout of the pages in this story was done using Macromedia Flash.

In August, 2006, the Takoma Gazette newspaper printed a lovely article about this children's story project. Here is a pdf file of that article.

Those of you interested in digital storytelling might be interested in a Flash slideshow I created last year using Powerbullet. This slideshow tells the story of the FIRST robotics team at Banneker Academic High School, in Washington DC. A couple years ago I worked on a digital storytelling project in the Adult Literacy Division of the Martin Luther King Memorial Library. This project is a bio of civil rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer.

When showing this story to an educator colleague of mine, Trudy Parker, she passed along the suggestion that this story would best be published on fabric, so that children could touch and feel the story. Trudy is a speech pathologist who has been working in the field for the past 25 years.

Other Rich Media Children's Stories

Thanks to the creative talents of Kimberly Race and Gary Daupin, two other stories of mine are available for free on the web in rich media format.
